5. Acronym quick reference: CRA: Community Readiness Assessment (the overall process of gathering community data) TEM: Tri-Ethnic Model (the model we use to conduct the CRA) CRM: Community Readiness Model (the exact same thing as the TEM)

7. Resources Needed • You will find a detailed list of resources you’ll need to complete the CRA process: • Roles to fill • Interviewers • Scorers • Report writer • Supplies to purchase • Recorder • Highlighters • Services to purchase • Transcription (see Steps 3 and 6 in the CRA Planning Tool)

8. CRA team overview • Assemble/identify your CRA team • Identify one or two interviewers • Identify two scorers • Identify a report writer • Select 4-8 key stakeholders to interview (minimum of 4 interviews must be conducted) • Start training your CRA team on their roles using the CRA videos and materials

Involve your coalition and build capacity The CRA Process involves discreet roles: • Conducting Interviews: 1-2 coalition members • Scoring Interviews: 2 coalition members (not involved in interviews) • Report write up: 1 coalition member Assigning roles to individuals who have not performed them before will teach coalition members new skills, build member buy-in, engagement, and sustainability.

10. Use the CRA process as a way to engage the community • Interviewing a variety of different community stakeholders provides a way to expand awareness of your coalition and coalition activities • Make sure to interview a broad representation of your community

You will customize this script using your community’s name and the issue or substance of focus • Total of 40 questions and a brief demographic profile
