Aims of the SBG • To raise the level of marketing knowledge, skills and expertise in the SME ‘sector’ • To deliver marketing training, and other support activity, that is appropriate, affordable and accessible by the SME community • To develop tools, templates and learning processes that are relevant to the smaller business

  2. Our vision “To be recognised by the UK SME sector, as the most authoritative source of marketing knowledge, and best marketing practice”

  3. Who is the SBG for? • CIM members with a professional interest in SMEs • Owners, directors and managers of SMEs which may have limited marketing expertise in-house • Small Business ‘support’ organisations • Small Business membership organisations

  4. Role of regional champion • To build a small team of SME activists within the region. • To identify ‘support initiatives’ which the regional CIM SBG can deliver. • To work with the regional team to deliver these initiatives. • To champion the cause of the SME sector with the CIM regional board.
