  1. Collecting Site Positivity Data in Region I Andee Krasner, MPH Region I IPP Advisory Board Meeting

  2. Background • In 2006, Region I began collecting only IPP-funded CT testing data • In 2010, CDC requested that the Infrastructure begin process of collecting site CT data, not just IPP-funded CT Testing

  3. Goals • With minimum burden to IPP AB Members, collect site positivity for IPP-funded sites and report to CDC • Make site positivity data available through state IPP Prevalence Monitoring System for use at state and local level

  4. CSPS- 3% Minimum • CSPS guidance assumes site positivity, not IPP positivity • Not known how IPP positivity rates compare to site positivity • If you have site positivity data, you should use it to determine 3% minimum positivity requirements for CSPS • May use IPP positivity rates for CSPS until site positivity project is complete

  5. Plan for Collecting Site Positivity • Work with State STD Directors and Lab Directors to request data extracts for data already collected by the state • Work with STD Directors and Family Planning Directors to request data from private labs • Develop systems for feeding site positivity data back into Prevalence Monitoring Data Systems

  6. Requested Data Fields • Request limited dataset from Labs: • Medical Record # / (Lab ID # will be ok) • Test Facility ID • State of Client residence (zip is ok) • Age (DOB is ok) • Gender • Test for CT and/or GC • Test result • Date of test performed • Nice to have: • Race/Ethnicity • Clinical History (source, pregnant, routine exam) • Payment • Risk History

  7. Progress • RI – provided data extract for all tests from IPP sites • PPNNE – provided data extract from all PPNNE IPP sites in VT, NH and ME • NH State Lab going to an electronic reporting system. They will provide extract of all state-funded tests at IPP sites.

  8. Next Steps • Non-IPP funded tests received • Develop a system for feeding data back into state Prevalence Monitoring System • Work with AB Members to request limited dataset from IPP sites • New Hampshire • Maine • Connecticut • Massachusetts
