  1. Lee Harvey Oswald By Trevor Eichelberger

  2. Background Born on October 18, 1939, in New Orleans, Louisiana As a child, Oswald was described by several people who knew him as withdrawn and temperamental Oswald enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on October 24, 1956 Like all Marines, Oswald was trained and tested in shooting and he scored 212 in December 1956, slightly above the requirements for the designation of sharpshooter

  3. Background Cont. Oswald was court-martialed after accidentally shooting himself in the elbow with an unauthorized .22 handgun This earned him the nickname “Ozzie Rabbit” among his Moved to Russia for awhile but later regretted it and moved back into the states

  4. Background Cont. When Lee returned he got a welding job but quit because he disliked it, then worked at a photo printing shop, however, was fired a week later and was accused of making forging ID documents The Warren Commission concluded that on April 10, 1963, Oswald attempted to kill retired U.S. Major General Edwin Walker

  5. Convictions Oswald was initially arrested for the shooting of Patrolman J. D. Tippitduring his supposed getaway dash from Dealey Plaza. Within twelve hours, he had also been charged with President Kennedy’s murder.

  6. Evidence The backyard photographs remain among the most incriminating and controversial pieces of evidence against Lee Harvey Oswald. The Mannlicher-Carcano rifle Oswald is holding is the same one used to kill President Kennedy. The 21 seconds of eight-millimeter film shot by Abraham Zapruder There are seven eyewitnesses to the shooting, including Jack Tatum who had the clearest view of the killer: “I was within 10, 15 feet of that individual and it was Lee Harvey Oswald.” In a remarkably short time, a detailed account of Oswald’s defection and leftist career had emerged, presumably from the FBI, who had long maintained a file on him, and had been fed to the waiting press.

  7. Oswald Shot He later died which leaves room for all the multiple conspiracy theories regarding the assassination of JFK to form. Before Lee Harvey could be fully convicted, while on his way to another interrogation he was shot by Jack Ruby

  8. Quote Popular Culture • “Americans are so spoiled. They think you always have to have a car, whereas I got away on my own two feet.” Books – Assignment: Oswald, The Interloper: Lee Harvey Oswald Inside the soviet union. Movies - Fatal Deception: Mrs. Lee Harvey Oswald, The On Trial: Lee Harvey Oswald Tv Shows – None

  9. Sociological Theory I believe that in this case the Differential Association Theory matches best. I believe this for a couple reasons. Mainly because he was in the marines, getting used to shooting and killing of people, then moved to a few foreign places like Russia or Mexico where his ties to the US diminished and grew interested in Pro-Castro and easily could have be more influenced to commit the murder of JFK and Officer because of the peers he was interacting with.
