  4. Money • Competition IHSCR post graduate students £300 + PhD money • Travelled to Liverpool each day

  5. NET/NEP 2008 Money • Cheap flights • Shared room • Away from shops • International Conference fund

  7. Other benefits • Session chaired-Invited to present my PhD and VC study at University of Oslo ( £ VC money) • Lecturers from Germany, Finland, Sweden asked for our work. Finland SKYPE discussion • Learnt about using staff life stories in research- Portugal • Enhances motivation and enthusiasm

  8. SPARC • Oral and poster presentation PhD ‘From concentration camp to nursing home’ • Short – sharp • Interactive with peers from across University and North West • Money = Free
