  2. Spanish Superlatives • To add emphasis to some adjectives, you can attach the ending –ísimo(a, os, as). • If the adjective ends in a vowel, drop it before adding the ending. • Ejemplos: • ¡La comida está riquísima! • ¡La sopa está deliciosísima! • ¡El desayuno está sabrosísimo!

How do you formulate a superlative in Spanish? • Add the suffix –ísimo(a) to the end of the word. • If the word ends in a vowel, drop it before adding. • Step 1- drop the vowel • Step 2 – attach the suffix –ísimo(a, os, as) • Step 3 – add the accent over the í. • Bello • Bell • Bellísimo(a,os,as)

  4. What if the word ends in c? • For words ending in –c • Like rico • Drop the –c • Change to –qu • Attach the suffix – ísimo (a,os,as) rico riqu riquísimo(a,os,os)

  5. What if the word ends in g? • For words ending in –g • Like largo • Drop the –g • Change to –gu • Attach the suffix – ísimo (a,os,as) largo largu larguísimo(a,os,as)

  6. What if the word ends in z? • For words ending in –z • Like feliz • Drop the -z • Change to -c • Attach the suffix – ísimo (a,os,as) feliz felic felicísimo(a,os,as)
