  18. LEAVING CERTIFICATE VOCATIONAL PROGRAMME A 2 year programme combining academic study with a new focus on enterprise, work and the community

  19. PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS • At least 5 LC subjects • 2 subjects must be from the designated Vocational Subject Groupings • A Modern European Language • 2 Link Modules

  28. Who would benefit most? • Students who are not adequately catered for by the Traditional Leaving Certificate or LCVP • Students who would benefit from a more practical approach than the Traditional Leaving Certificate

Points to consider before deciding to do Transition • Students know their Junior Cert results when choosing their Leaving Cert subjects • Students are older and more mature: (i) doing the Leaving Cert (ii) going to college • Students who do Transition Year get more points in the Leaving Cert (NCCA)
