  1. Ways to Perform the Rituals of Shiv Parvati Pooja Mondays are dedicated to lord Shiva brass idols, and ardent worshippers do puja or Rudrabhishek to honour him. Check out the list of puja samagri and learn how to do Shiva puja on Somwar. Chandra Dev rules Mondays, which are known as Somwar in Hindi. Mondays are devoted to Lord Shiva since he saved the Moon God (Chandra) from a curse. On Mondays, devout worshippers worship Lord Shiva by doing puja or Rudrabhishek. Though a devotee may worship his or her Ishta Devta (most cherished god) anytime he or she likes, each of the seven days of the week is often dedicated to different Gods/Goddesses. Mondays, for example, a re considered perfect for worshipping Lord Shiva (known as Somwar in Hindi). Somwar is named after Soma (Chandra), and Mondays are dedicated to him since Lord Shiva sav ed the Moon God from a curse. On Mondays, devout worshippers worship brass Shivaby doing puja or Rudrabhishek. Continue reading to learn how to do Shiva puja on Somwar and to see a list of puja samagri. Shiva Puja Samagri Gangajal or regular water Raw milk Honey (optional) Curd (optional) Ghee (optional) Datura flowers and fruits Vilva leaves or Bel Patra Madar (white crown flowers). Chandan Two pieces of fresh cloth or Kalava Janeyu Incense sticks An earthen or brass lamp Sesame oil/mustard oil/desi cow ghee Cotton wicks A panch patra for storing water for puja Trays for arranging the puja items Camphor Bell

Shiva Puja Vidhi Light oil light and set it on your home's altar. Do Dhyana (meditation). Chant 'OM Namah Shivaya' as many times as you can. Invoke Lord Shiva. Begin the puja by conducting the abhishekam of the Shiva Lingam or Lord Shiva's idol. Water, Gangajal, milk, honey, ghee, curd, and water is the order. After presenting each of these objects, clean the idol with water. Gently dab the idol with a clean towel. Give the god the second piece of clean cloth. Apply the chandan and present the Janeyu to lord Shiva brass statue. Make an incense stick. Following that, provide the vilva leaves, datura flowers and fruits, madar flowers, and so on. Chant the following Shiva Mantras OM Tatpurushaya Vidmahe Mahadevaya Dheemahi, Tanno Rudra Prachodayat OM Namo Bhagavate Rudraya OM Trayambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam, Urvarukamiva Bandhanaan Mrityormukshi Mamritaat
