1. IPL 2021- Ricky Ponting shares his thought on Prithvi Shaw Delhi Capitals are gearing up for the IPL 2021 where they will take on Chennai Super Kings in their first game on April 10. Prior to that, the Head Coach of the Delhi Capitals, Ricky Ponting has opened up on their talented opener Prithvi Shaw, who had a great start to the IPL in UAE last year but failed to carry forward the momentum. I’ve had some really interesting chats with him through last year’s IPL, just trying to break him down, trying to find out exactly what was the right way to coach him and how I was going to get the best out of him,” said the former batting legend. “But he had an interesting theory on his batting last year – when he’s not scoring runs, he won’t bat, and when he is scoring runs, he wants to keep batting all the time.” However, Ponting was surprised with Shaw’s decision as he had four or five games where he made fewer than 10 and when the coach asked him to practice in the nets he denied instantly. However, the former Australia captain hoped that Shaw had changed his attitude by now and was more willing to practice in the nets when out of form as well. “He might have changed. I know he’s done a lot of work over the last few months, that theory that he had might have changed, and hopefully it has, because if we can get the best out of him, he could be a superstar player.”

2. Image source by twitter However, Shaw was in prolific form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in India hammering a record 827 runs including four centuries. He was dropped from the Australia Test series last year after failing in the Day and Night opener in Adelaide and the youngster admitted that he felt worthless and depressed as well. However, it will be interesting to see how Shaw plays in the IPL 2021 for Delhi Capitals.
