  29. VISAS • Applications must be lodged at the VFS centre at least 6 weeks prior to proposed dates of travel. • Student must have an unconditional offer and he/she should pay a minimum deposit of 6000 Euros if fee is 12000 Euros or less and 50% of tuition fee if fee is more than 12000 Euros. • Student Applications lodged 3 weeks or less prior to proposed date of travel will not be processed. The 3 weeks deadline is for the file to reach visa office in New Delhi and not the time of submission in VFS office. • APPROVAL IN PRINCIPLE SCHEME • Apply with the conditional offer (pending final year marksheets and provisional degree) • Student must have paid a minimum deposit of 6000 Euros. • Application to be lodged at least 7 weeks before the course start date. • Once the final year marksheet and provisional degree has been submitted to the Ireland Embassy, New Delhi, the visa will be issued.  AIP Visa Normal Visa Note: Due to high volume of visa application, we recommend to apply 8 weeks prior to the course start date.

  32. Documents for Student Visa Contd. F) Medical Insurance is mandatory (Private Insurance is also acceptable). Note 1: Please provide a Photocopy of all documents student wish to have returned to him. Note 2: Please provide full contact details for all student sponsors. If they are not directly related to students, e.g. Mother/Father/Sibling, please explain the relationship and provide some evidence of this. Special Note: Spouse is not allowed to apply for Student Dependent Visa.

  33. Details on GARDA Registration Initially, student will be getting visa for 30 to 90 days. Student will have to register at the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) soon after the student arrives in Ireland. The below documents are required: • Passport • Student ID card (provided by the school/university in Ireland). • A letter from the Registrar's office of the school/university stating that student is a registered student and stating the start date and completion date of his/her course. • The student is required to show a part of his/her living expenses i.e. a minimum of €3000 to the visa office in his/her Irish bank statement. • A €300 fee (credit/debit card ‐ no cash accepted).

Evidence of Funds • Evidence that the student has immediate access to Tuition Fees + Living expenses for all the years. €10,000 is the estimated cost of living in Ireland as per Irish Embassy for a student for one academic year. The cost of total duration of study and stay needs to be shown in liquid funds such as Education Loan, Bank Balances and Fixed Deposits. • It is highly recommended that the tuition fee should not be sponsored only through the education loan, which means the sponsor should have 6 months old liquid funds in their account apart from education loan. • To get faster VISA, it is advised to make full fees payment before applying for VISA. • If there are recent large deposits in the account then a proper source of those funds also needed to be submitted.

  38. Evidence of Funds • Evidence of deposits, registration and tuition fees already paid and evidence of the source of funds used to pay them to be shown. • In case of education loan, the monthly income of parents should be sufficiently more to cover the other living expenses of the sponsors/parents and the EMI of the education loan. • Sponsors should have strong annual income and below listed documentary evidences can be accepted. • Copy of Income Tax Returns with average annual income of Rs. 8 to 10 Lakhs. • In case of agricultural income, income certificate from Tehsildar with translated copies of land record and bills of the sales of the agricultural produce. • Form No. 16 and salary slips in absence of ITRs.

  39. Question No. 1 While filling the online application for VISA, student has option to choose single/multi-entry? Which option is suitable for the student?

  40. Answer: If a candidate is applying for a visa to study, then he/she should apply for a Single entry Visa only as the VISA is initially granted only for 90 days. Once he/she has been issued with a Garda registration card, then he/she can apply for multiple-entry Visa, if required.

  41. Question No. 2 Which banks/ financial institutions of India can provide loan to students for pursuing studies at Ireland? Answer: Irish High Commission accept loans from all the nationalized banks and commercial banks registered with RBI.

  42. Question No. 3 Is PhD Possible in Ireland?

  43. Answer: PhD courses requires a strong research proposal made by the student which is to be forwarded to the Course Supervisor of the University and is subjected to approval. Once the approval is given, the application can be made. However, the commission is not guaranteed for the courses related to PhD in Ireland. It is advisable to offer chargeable services to such kind of students.

  44. Question No. 4 Does Ireland Universities help in providing jobs?

  46. Question No. 5 How many backlogs are acceptable in Ireland? Backlogs!

  47. Answer: • Universities can accept upto3 to 5 backlogs. University of Limerick does not accept any backlogs. • Institute of Technologies accept upto8 to 10 backlogs (IT Carlow accepts upto 4 backlogs only and DKIT can accepts upto 30*backlogs) • Private colleges like DBS, NCI and Griffith college accepts not more than 15 backlogs. *Degree should be completed in stipulated time period with Min 60-65% in bachelors.

  48. Question No. 6 Does Irish institutions accept 3 years Bachelors’ degree or 15 years of education for a Masters’ course ? Answer: Yes, it is accepted. Only Technological University Dublin, Dublin City University and Limerick Institute of Technology accept 4 years Bachelors’ degree. Note: In DCU for MSc Computing – 4 years Engineering degree in Computer Science

  49. Question No. 7 Can student accept a conditional offer ? How much initial amount does the student needs to submit for accepting the offer ? Are there any deadlines for accepting the offers ? Answer: Yes, conditional offer can be accepted.Initial deposit varies from university to university (Euros 500 – Euros 2000)Deadlines for accepting the offers are mentioned on the offer letters.
