Intro formation • Oil was formed 500-300 million years ago. • It was formed from plants and animals. • The plants and animals died and sank to the bottom and sand turned into rock and pushed down on it. • The plants and animals turned into oil witch we use every day.
history • Oil is used in many ways throughout history. • The first oil well was in 1859. • In 1913 Henry Ford made mass production automobiles.
location • Oil is found in many different regions of the world. • Huge oil fields are in Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Alaska.
obtaining • Man must drill deep into the earths crush to obtain oil • When oil is obtained we send it to a refinery to get cleaned. • After that we can use it.
advantages • People use oil for cars, air planes and a lot of other automobiles. • People use it to heat homes and light houses.
Disadvantages • If an animal falls into an oil well it can DIE!!! • All oil causes POLLUTION!!! • Oil is nonrenewable.
future of oil • Oil is nonrenewable so we need to conserve it. • Oil will last about 60-80 more years but if we can conserve it will last about 70-90 more years. • Scientists are trying to make more technologies to save it.☻
