Symbiosis relationship • A Symbiosis relationship is a long-lasting relationship in close association of two different kinds of organisms especially when such a relationship is of benefit to both. Symbiosis means “Living together.” The three main types of symbiosis are parasitism, commensalism, and mutualism. It is a cooperative relationship.

  3. Commensalism relationships • A relation between 2 kinds of plants and animals in which one obtains a benefit from the other without damusing or benefitting it. • For example an elf owl makes its nest in a hole in a cactus. The owl benefits, and the cactus is not affected. In commensalism, one organism benefits and the other organism is not affected.

  4. Mutualism Relationship • In mutualism, both organisms benefit. Cleaner shrimp, for example, eat parasites off fish. The shrimp get food and the fish stay healthy. This relationship helps both shrimp and the fish.

  5. Abiotic relationships • The abiotic factors of the environment include light, Temperature, and atmospheric gases • Not associated with or derived from living organisms. Abiotic factors in an environment include such items as sunlight, temperature, wind patterns, and precipitation.
