Facilitate a discussion about the opportunities and barriers in creating similar MCH linked data systems in other states

Funded to assess impact of prenatal environment on subsequent child (and maternal) health
Utilizes a broad range of public health data

Allows for multiple kinds of linkages and analysis, including dyadic, maternal, child, multiple sibling and family
Breadth of data system is expandable
Offers a conceptual and practical model for other states
5. Nature of Pell Data System Consists of a birth-related Core plus additional program and other surveillance data
Connected by unique identifiers for births, children, and mothers
All linkages are to birth and fetal death certificates
