  4. What? SocialWare is a non-profit organization that wants to help social vzw/asbl to function in a more efficient way by giving access to donation programs of several IT companies (Microsoft (75%), Cisco, Symantec, SAP) Vzw/asbl pay an admin fee of 4% of the market value of products

  5. Why? • ICT poverty of non profit organizations • Insufficiant ICT skills • Insufficiant ICT budget

  6. Donation rules • Maximum per two-year period • Up to six titles (e.g. Office 2010) • Up to 50 licenses per title • Exceptions: One server license per title • 1 request per 12 months period • Volume licensing • 2 year software assurance

  7. Who is eligible? • VZW/ASBL • Eligible activity SocialWare checks if NGO is eligible (through official documents & activities)

  8. Only NGO’s operating in the socio-educational sector with the aim of: • Relief to the less favored populations; • Advancement of education, social and community welfare, culture; • Advancement of the natural environment, or other purposes beneficial to the community.

  9. Examples… No for: • Religious organizations • Governmental organizations • Schools • Hospitals & health care • Business & professional organizations • Advocacy organizations

  10. Examples… YES for: • Special schools • Cultural/art initiatives • Initiatives for the poor/disadvantaged • Aid to the handicapped / mental health care • Youth activities • Environmental organizations • Religious organizations open to all religions • Job training • PC’s with public access in libraries

  11. What’s in it for the partner? • Limited quantity of donation • Limited eligibility rules • Very small organization (average of 9 PC) • The average donation is for 3 titles and 27 licenses total (out of possible 300 licenses total) • Sales programs do not target these small NGO’s • Revenue on implementation/services

  12. How to register? • Via www.socialware.be the NGO needs to send their statutory documents. • Within 4 workdays the NGO will receive an answer to know if they are compliant with the Microsoft eligibility rules. The process is managed by Socialware.
