Essential Guidelines for Completing BIOL241 Lab Reports

Ensure your BIOL241 lab reports meet all expectations for full credit. Label all diagrams, including the nucleus and plasma membrane, and provide descriptive notes for differentiating features. Adhere to the specified magnification and complete all assigned answers. Be aware that points will be deducted for missing labels and late submissions starting with Lab 9. Resubmit any reports marked "Complete & resubmit" as soon as possible. Utilize open lab hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays for assistance. Failure to comply may affect your score.

  1. BIOL241 Lab reports expectations

  2. Be sure they are complete! • Label all drawings: • Nucleus (“always”), plasma membrane (usu.) • Identifying, differentiating, features: if need be, write some descriptive notes • MAGNEFICATION • Complete all assigned answers!! • On future labs, I will deduct points for missing answers & labels!

  3. Resubmit • If you have a note “Complete & resubmit” do so ASAP – On labs 3 – 7 I will let you get the missing points if you turn in the completed lab report by class, Monday 29 April. After that, only ½ points will be added to you score.

  4. On time • Starting with Lab 9 (bones overview) I will deduct points for late labs. (You can’t afford to be behind!) • If you have a “legitimate” explanation, let me know. If reasonable, I will make an accommodation on a case by case basis.

  5. Tues. & Thur. • Tuesdays, open lab is in AS1615 so it is “easy” for you to stay in lab. • Thursdays, open lab is in AS1614, right next door
