  1. India’s New Labour Codes Overview: The Four New Labour Codes have been implemented with effect from 21 November 2025, replacing 29 Labour Laws. Every organisation must understand the changes and prepare for transition. CODE ON WAGES CODE ON SOCIAL SECURITY PF, ESI, Gratuity, Maternity, BOCW merged Gig & platform workers recognised Gratuity for fixed-term employees (pro-rata) Single social-security registration Single definition of “wages” – allowances capped at 50% Minimum wages applicable to all employees National floor wage to be notified Overtime at 2× wage rate INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS CODE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH & WORKING CONDITIONS CODE 13 Acts consolidated (Factories, CLRA, BOCW, ISMW etc.) Contract labour threshold: 50 workers Restriction on contract labour in core activities Women allowed in night shifts with safeguards Digital inspections via Inspector-cum-Facilitator Lay-off/retrenchment permission threshold raised to 300 workers Standing orders applicable only for 300+ workers Single negotiating union (51% membership rule) 14-day strike notice mandatory HOW SKMC GLOBAL CAN HELP?
