  3. Como padre, usted es el primer y el maestro(a) más importante de su hijo(a). Hay muchas maneras como los padres pueden ayudar a sus hijos a aprender en la casa y a través del año escolar.

  4. As a parent, you are the first and the most important teacher of your child. There are a lot of ways parents can help their children to learn at home and through the whole school year.

  6. Create a society with your child’s teacher and the school personnel • Meet your child’s teacher. The school wil provide you with the services of an interpreter. (Contact Mr. Banderas) • Meet all your child’s teachers, administrators and counselors of the school.

  8. Create a society with your child’s teacher and the school personnel • Attend all the parent-teacher conferences. You can let the teacher know in advance that you will need an interpreter. • If you have a concern and you cannot attend a meeting, send your child’s teacher a note or send him (her) an e-mail.

  16. Be informed and support your Child • Ask questions. If you have a concern about your child’s learning or behavior, contact and ask your child’s teacher about it. • Your questions can be like these ones: — What problems does my child have? What can I do to help my child with this problem?
