  • Recommendation of working groups on new tasks will be presented by April 2014.

  • Section 130 was one of few dedicated programs maintained in MAP-21.
  • AASHTO-SCORT needs to continue to advocate for continuing the program in reauthorization.
  • Since 1976 in NC, Section 130 funds have completedan average of 80 projects/year:
    • funded crossing warning system installations and/or upgrades at 2,939 public crossings
    • provided for closure of 144 public crossings
  • Hamberger-Horsley Letter
  • Continued collaboration with AAR, One Rail, ASLRRA, and S4PRC is needed.
