  2. What is Global Warming? Global warming is when the earth heats up from all the harmful sunrays. Then the sunrays cannot reflect and continue to heat up the planet because the atmosphere is thicker due to greenhouse gases.

  3. Cause of Global Warming • The causes of global warming include electrical pollution, deforestation, car emissions, heating, and garbage, among many more. • People probably wonder, why do people want to cut down trees.

  4. How Does Global Warming Effect the Planet? • Due to the rise in temperatures the seas and oceans are warmer, which can make natural disasters stronger. Glaciers also melt and the sea level rises. Animals lose their natural habitats and can no longer survive.

  5. What Do Hurricanes Have to Do with Global Warming? • Global warming worsens hurricanes because warmer water temperatures causes hurricanes to gain strength.

  6. Hurricane Katrina • Hurricane Katrina was on the deadliest hurricanes in American history. • Many people died and lost their homes. It was also the sixth worst natural disaster in American history. • Global Warming had a role in causing hurricane Katrina. Due to the earth heating up the ocean water was warmer, and the hurricane gained strength.

  7. What Happened After the Hurricane? • Five years later thousands of misplaced residents in Mississippi and Louisiana are still living in temporary accommodation.

  8. What is Energy? • Energy is something that powers our cities and our bodies also use energy to function. • An examples of energy is food, that helps power our bodies. • The difference between renewable and non-renewable is that non-renewable cannot be used again but renewable can.

  9. Nuclear Energy • Source of Non Renewable energy • The way it works is by an atom being split. The energy that is released is to used.

  10. Renewable energy • Renewable energy comes from natural resources like wind and sunlight. • Source of renewable energy is Wind Power. • It could effect our environment in a bad way because of the death of birds.

  11. What is Recycling? • Recycling is when you reuse an item and make it something else.

  12. How Do We Recycle? • You look at the bottom of the recyclable object to determine that it is recyclable • You could also rinse or flatten it to add a little more to help. • Also take off the cap of plastic bottles because that type of plastic is not recyclable.
