  2. Preparation • On a sheet of paper, write the following names, leave a few lines between each name: • Abigail Adams • Benjamin Franklin • Alexander Hamilton • Thomas Jefferson • George Washington • Phillis Wheatley

Document Walk • Count off into groups of 6. • You will have 5 minutes at each station. • At each station, view the portrait and write 3 observations about the person on your paper. • Observations should be brief- single words or short phrases based on how you view the portrait. • This is interpretation, so there are no right/wrong answers. Your answer do not need to match those in your group.

  4. Reflection Questions • Which portrait did you think was most interesting, and why? • Which portrait did you think was least interesting, and why? • Based on the portraits, what kind of people do you think the founders were? • What predictions do you have about what you will learn about our founders?
