Current and Recent IPC Project Highlights – S. Sudan
  • Southern Sudan, 2007 Census – (S. Sudan project funded by USAID)
    • Development of a decentralized statistical office in an area emerging from 20 years of civil war that is rebuilding basic infrastructure.
    • The New Sudan Centre for Statistics and Evaluation (NSCSE) is striving to quickly build capacity and provide badly needed data for political, social, and planning purposes.
    • IPC to provide support in the development of the NSCSE with the objective of conducting the census in Southern Sudan in 2007, which will be part of the Sudan Census in conjunction with the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) in Khartoum
