  6. Language Thailand Official language is Thai Writing: Thai Script Not a true alphabet but an abugida Thai has its own set of Thai numerals, which are based on the Hindu Arabic numeral system 44 consonants representing 21 distinct consonant sounds

  7. Traditions Food Dress Women traditional dress usually wear a one-shouldered dress with a flowing or a tube skirt. Men usually wear a shirt and pants similar to western style. Traditional clothing is mostly silk. Thai food is commonly know for the mix of flavours from ingredients.

  8. Customs No touching people’s heads No showing feet to others Take shoes off when entering a temple/house Greet others with ‘wai’ Do not draw attention to yourself Speak in soft tones A woman doing a welcoming ‘Wai’
