  2. The history of the university • Institute history begins in 1918, when on the basis of existing Saratov 1913 biennial Teachers' Institute was established Pedagogical Institute. For many years it has existed as an independent college or university as faculty. By order of the People's Commissariat of the RSFSR of November 24, 1931 - Institute was isolated from the SSU. The Institute has offices (later they became faculties): physical and mathematical, chemical, biological, Russian language and literature, historical, economic, Kalmyk, Mordvinian. Later they were added: German, teacher, pedological, preschool and Ukrainian. In the early 40s there were 5 faculties: history, Russian language and literature, foreign languages, physics and mathematics, the natural sciences.

  3. In 1957 the Faculty of Physical Education, 1959 - Music and the Faculty of Education in 1978 - Faculty of primary school in 1979 - Faculty training and retraining, in 1989 - re-created Department of History, 1990 y - open defectology faculty.

In pedagogical institute has eminent scholars and teachers: Professor Skaftymov, Lukyanenko, Bitten, Barannikova (Faculty of Philology), Professor Fights, Mironov, Kovalev (Physics and Mathematics), Professor Victorious, Circassians, Michurino (Faculty of Natural Sciences), Professor Fear (Department of Psychology), Professor Ostaltsevaand Ozolin(Faculty of History), Professor Archaznikova(musical-pedagogical faculty).

  5. Among the graduates of the Institute - outstanding teachers, artists and athletes, musicians and singers: the winner of the international competition in Italy ARON B., M. Shkin soloists (Sverdlovsk Theater of Musical Comedy) and A. Crane (Opera in Cheboksary), athletes: two-time world champion GalkinaL., European champions Timofeeva Yu, LomtevE.

Currently Pedagogical Institute is a subdivision of SSU . • It consists of 6 faculties: Faculty of Russian Literature, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Faculty of elementary school faculty correctional pedagogy and special psychology, music and the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Physical Education. In all faculties except the Faculty of Foreign Languages, there is correspondence sections where higher education teachers and workers receive public education.

  7. The Institute has four academic buildings and three student hostels. Each school building has a library and reading room, and in the dorms - rooms for self-study and recreation.

  8. Given the status of the Institute's library science. She has extensive funds educational, psychological and other literature, as well as periodicals and fiction.
