  2. What happens during this natural disaster? During this natural disaster warm moist air and warm water are mixed to create a hurricane. A hurricane is like a tornado but a little more powerful. The way you can determine if a hurricane is going to last long and how powerful it is is by measuring the distance of the “eye of the storm”. Hurricanes can rip a tree right out of the ground with no effort at all. Few people die because they are evacuated before the storm can reach them. Eye of the Storm

  3. What causes this natural disaster? The way a hurricane is formed is by combining warm moist air and warm water. This is why most hurricanes begin in the tropics. When the warm air and the warm water combines with cooler air and water, rain clouds form and they create the beginning of a mighty storm. This cycle continues until winds start to spiral around one calm center of air, like water swirling down a drain. + =

  5. Hurricane Katrina Hurricane Katrina was the worst hurricane that hit the US. This hurricane lasted for several weeks. It started out by hitting Florida then it continued to go across Florida’s mainland. It soon hit the bottom of Louisiana in the city of New Orleans. The storm had finally stopped when it on the mainland of Mississippi and Alabama. This hurricane cost millions of dollars in repair to cities.

  6. Hurricane Andrew Hurricane Andrew was a hurricane that hit the US in 1992. Today Hurricane Andrew was one of the biggest hurricanes to hit the US. It started it’s path east of the coast of Florida. Then, like Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Andrew crossed over the mainland of Florida. It continued it’s path into the Gulf of Mexico. It then traveled north and headed into Louisiana, this time missing New Orleans. Hurricane Andrew finally died down when it began entering the state of Mississippi.
