Earn a Christian Award through PRAY!

Join the PRAY program to grow in faith with your child, work alongside mentors, learn about the Bible, and inspire service projects. Scouts fulfill their duty to God. Grades 1-3 focus on God and Me, while Grades 4-5 explore God and Family. Consider joining classroom sessions or doing it at home. Complete requirements by January for ceremony in February. Reach out to Tracy Murray by November 10th to volunteer or with any questions.

  2. Why Earn this Award? • “To grow” stronger in faith with your son • “To work” alongside Christian adults and mentors • “To learn” more aboutthe Bible and your church • “To inspire” to do service projects to helpother people

  3. If You’re a Scout: • Fulfill your Boy Scout “Duty to God” • Fulfill your Girl Scout promise “To Serve God” • Fulfill your American Heritage Girl Oath “Love God”

  4. Grades1-3 (Tiger-Bear)

  5. God and Me • Read Bible Stories and make games • Keep your games in a GAMEBox • Take turns hiding a prayer rock with your family

  6. Requirements • 4 lessons in the workbook • 4 family projects • Memorize the Lord’s Prayer • Final interview with the pastor

  7. God and Me Recognitions Formal emblem to the left to be recognized & awarded within the church. The BSA Religious Knot Patch below will be awarded at the Pack Blue & Gold Banquet. Both can be worn on the Cub Scout & transfer to the Boy Scout Class A Uniform.

  9. God and Family • Meet Bible families • Learn how pizza is like a family • Make a pizza

  10. Requirements • 6 lessons in the workbook • 6 family projects • Memorize the Ten Commandments • Final interview with the pastor

ConsiderClassroom Sessions? • Consider volunteering to be the PRAY Counselor for your grades • Tracy will coordinate with Faith Lutheran Church the dates/times/location of the sessions - will be on Wednesday nights • Make Payment & receive the workbooks at the November Pack Meeting (11/26) from the Pack PRAY Coordinator (Tracy). A Bible will be provided for you from the church. • Complete all the requirements by the end of January (including the final interview with your Pastor/Priest that will be scheduled)– there will be periodic check-ins with the Counselor by the Pack Coordinator (Tracy) • Join the Pack planned group presentation ceremony on Scout Sunday (Feb 3rd) or plan a presentation ceremony with your Pastor to celebrate! (Tracy will order awards)

Consider Doing it at Home with “you” as the Counselor • Meet with your pastor/priest and gain approval to be your child’s counselor. • Send an e-mail by November 10thto tracy.murray@thrivent.com • Make Payment & receive the workbooks at the November Pack Meeting (11/26) from the Pack PRAY Coordinator - Tracy (you will require both student and counselor workbooks). You will also need your own Bible. • Complete all the requirements by the end of January (including the final interview with your Pastor/Priest)– there will be periodic check-ins by Tracy • Join the Pack planned group presentation ceremony on Scout Sunday (Feb 3rd) or plan a presentation ceremony with your Pastor/Priest to celebrate! (Pack Coordinator will order awards).

Classroom sessions will be held Wednesday nights at Faith Lutheran Church on Glendale Ave. • Cost: $15.00 Classroom/$18.50 At Home (for the God & Me or God & Family Programs**) ** Other religions may have different costs
