Assessments Assess Your Workforce • In addition to certifying cognitive skills, the NCRC Plus ranks individuals in four soft skills categories. • Work Discipline—productivity and dependability • Teamwork—tolerance, communication, and attitude • Customer Service Orientation—interpersonal skills and perseverance • Managerial Potential—persuasion, enthusiasm, and problem solving

  9. 2,450 NCRCs have been earned since September 2009 • 249 = Bronze • 45 = Bronze Plus • 1109 = Silver • 310 = Silver Plus • 543 = Gold • 176 = Gold Plus • 18 = Platinum

Career Certified is a ten day work readiness program which focuses on: • Soft skills (Career Ready 101): life management & workplace behavior • Basic skills (KeyTrain): reading and math • Partnership with the Workforce Investment Board of Will County and funded through a competitive process. • All Workforce Investment Act (WIA) eligible participants must successfully complete Career Certified in order to receive their career scholarship.

Health Care Bridge Program which began in January 2011 Funded by the Department of Health & Human Services – Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) Two career paths: Pharmacy Technician and Certified Nurse Assistant Eligible participants: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients Low-Income Individuals (based on WIA Title 1B income guidelines)

  13. WorkKeys Assessments for Healthcare (contextualized content): Reading for Information Applied Mathematics Locating Information And personal skill assessments: Talent (NCRC Plus) Performance Fit WorkKeys scores required for each path:

Connect2Employment • Youth program (16-21) targeted at high school dropouts. • Participants earn their GED and attend leadership classes. • Participants use KeyTrain curriculum to prepare for the WorkKeys Assessments to earn the National Career Readiness Certificate. • Participants are also assessed on personal skills using Performance, Fit and Talent assessments. • Partnership with the Workforce Investment Board of Will County and funded through a competitive process.

  15. Connect2Employment • The ACT for work • Nationally recognized credential to include on a resume • Keeps GED students competitive with high school graduates • Compare scores with requirements of potential occupations

Connect2Employment • Two Program Components • GED • Aligns with NCRC • 1 hour per week • Rotating levels of instruction • Focus on one test per month • Includes instruction and independent work • Students begin by pretesting in all 3 subjects • Focus on one area per month until complete • Able to assess amount of time spent in any area to determine readiness to test.
