Undergraduate Programs • Bachelor of Psychology – Springfield • Bachelor of Science (Psychology) – on campus * • Bachelor of Science – External * + • Gradate Diploma of Psychological Studies # * + * The BSc is a 3 year program based on Toowoomba campus + Some courses are offered on campus on Fraser coast # For students with a previous degree and recommended pre-requisites

  3. Undergraduate Programs • Advantages of the Springfield Program • Nearly 100% Psychology content • Some practical component • Allows probationary registration as a psychologist at the end of the program • Guaranteed fourth year place if progress is satisfactory

Undergraduate Programs • Advantages of the Toowoomba Programs • Maximum flexibility – study can be on-campus or off campus this can be mixed • Exemptions can be made for recognition of prior learning • Allows the ability to take on other areas of study to maximise employment opportunities • On completion of Honours allows application for Probationary Psychologist in Queensland

  6. The Three year degree can qualify you for jobs such as • Counsellor • Youth Worker • Personnel Officer • Research Officer • Child Safety Officer • Community Corrections Officer • Research Officer • Health Promotion Officer • Training Officer

  7. People who complete the Three year degree may do further or study to become a • Teacher • Police officer • Human resource manager • Sales or marketing consultant

Private practice Corporations - consulting firms, market research companies, recruitment firms, test development corporations Education - universities, schools, career services Government departments Health and welfare services Community agencies Police force, law courts and prisons Counselling services Defence forces Non-profit organisations and professional associations Research institutions Training and development services. Where do Psychologists Work

How to become a Psychologist • To become registered in Qld requires: • Completion of an accredited Honours degree + 2 year supervised experience (Note the Assessment, Counselling & Abnormal psych must be studied in the 3rd or 4th year of the degree). • OR completion of an an approved Masters Coursework program such as the Master of Psychology (Health or Clinical) offered at USQ.
