  3. Important Dates • Filing: January 7th-February 1st5PM • Receipts Due: January 25th by 4:00pm • W-9’s Due: February 1st by 8:30am • Check e-mail by: • Sunday February 3rd • Sunday February 10th

  4. Budget Rules – Common Pitfalls • Lodging: limit $35 per person per night (ergo $35 X 2 people X 3 nights = $210 max) • All vehicles at the University rate of 55.5₵ /mile • $500 limit on speaker stipend • Student Government must be included in the budget! • Revenue must equal expenses!

  5. Budget Rules – Common Pitfalls • Budget Inflation: Don’t do it, we’ll know • Matching Rule: Student Government can only match funds that the club themselves possess (if you want $1000 from us, you need $1000 of your own funding) • $700 Rule

Help Sessions or Budget Office Hours - MANDATORY • Help Sessions: Monday, January 14 7:00-7:45pm Tuesday, January 22 7:00-7:45pm Wednesday, January 30 7:00-7:45pm Thursday, January 31 7:00-7:45pm • Budget Office Hours: Monday, January 14 7:45-8:45pm Tuesday, January 22 7:45-8:45pm Wednesday, January 30 7:45-8:45pm Thursday, January 31 7:45-8:45pm • All sessions take place in Senate Chambers H314.

In Addition! • SORC Registered • Filed W-9 • Receipts turned in • Tax identification number • Links to these resources can be found in the Appropriations Packet. • Receipts and W-9’s can be checked on the Treasury webpage. • Student Government CANNOT aid groups in filling out the W-9 or filing for a tax id number, contact Student Legal

  8. Beyond the Application • Interviews: February 5th-7th • Start Ups: no interview • All other requests: four minute interviews • Arrive promptly!

  9. First Amounts • Mark Up: February 8th-10th • Notification of initial amounts: February 10th • What if groups are not happy? – Appeals • File notice of appeals: February 13th , 5:00pm • Appeals: February 19th-20th

  10. Final Amounts • First reading: Wednesday, February 13th • Second reading: Wednesday, February 27th • Notification of final amounts: Thursday, February 28th • Estimated check arrival: First month of Fall Semester Note that checks can be used to reimburse expenses
