  1. “Those Who Hunger & Thirst For Righteousness” (Matthew 5:1-12) I. Should want to know what is right. A. Few today hunger to know right. • They think they know (Ezek. 13:2-7). • Or reject what God says (Prov. 14:12). B. God’s word teaches what right (Ps. 119:160). • We must crave to know (1 Pet. 2:1-3).

  2. “Those Who Hunger & Thirst For Righteousness” (Matthew 5:1-12) I. Should want to know what is right. Jesus teaches us that those who hunger to know what is right are blessed.

  3. “Those Who Hunger & Thirst For Righteousness” (Matthew 5:1-12) II. Should want to do what is right. A. Knowing right is a crossroads… • One can do right (Acts 8:39). • One can turn away (Mark 10:21-22). B. Knowledge of right brings responsibility (Rom. 2:17-24; Luke 12:47-48). C. We can’t be right with God doing wrong (1 John 3:7-8).

  4. “Those Who Hunger & Thirst For Righteousness” (Matthew 5:1-12) II. Should want to do what is right. Jesus teaches us that those who hunger to do what is right are blessed.

  5. “Those Who Hunger & Thirst For Righteousness” (Matthew 5:1-12) III. Should want to be right with God. A. David wanted to be right (Ps. 51:7-10). B. David want to do right (Ps. 51:12-17). C. God “justifies” (Rom. 8:33). • The gospel is how (Rom. 1:16-17). • It must be accepted and obeyed (Rom. 10:16; 2 Thess. 1:8; 1 Pet. 4:17).
