Interactive Play Instructions for AIBO Experiment

Welcome to the AIBO experiment! Follow the instructions carefully to engage with AIBO effectively. You can talk to AIBO by speaking clearly and loudly; if AIBO doesn't understand, try repeating yourself. Touch AIBO's head, chin, or back for interaction. Remember to give one command at a time, speak only one sentence, and avoid simultaneous speaking and touching. Gently tap AIBO and assist if it hits a wall. You have 25 minutes of interaction time - enjoy exploring AIBO’s capabilities!

  2. What can I do with AIBO? Talk • talk loudly! • talk clearly! • talk AGAIN if AIBO does not understand

  3. What can I do with AIBO? Touch • touch AIBO’s Head • touch AIBO’s Chin • touch AIBO’s back

  4. What should I pay attention to? • please make ONLY one command each time • speak only one sentence • touch only one sensor • do not speak while touching/ do not touch while speaking • please tap AIBO gently • please correct AIBO’s direction when AIBO hits the wall • Please let AIBO finish his performance before you give out the second command

  5. Let’s proceed to the interaction with AIBO • you will have a complete command sheet telling you all the things you can do with AIBO • we encourage you to try ALL the commands out and circle the number if you do observe the response. • you will have 25 minutes interaction time • please Enjoy
