Goals / Recent Successes Creating Tomorrow’s Workforce Open Code - Five course web development bootcamp focused on coding websites using programming languages, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHPTechHire - Secured $4M to create and expand pathways into tech for disadvantaged youth New Program Development Cybersecurity Certificate - Build knowledge and professional experience with security fundamentals, networks and organizational security Title V - Support a five-year program to strengthen student success in STEM disciplines through inquiry-based and integrative pedagogies and improved advisement Petrie Foundation - Funded $50K to develop an articulated dual- degree program with Queens College
Goals / Recent Successes Faculty Professional Development JPMorgan Chase - Awarded $300K to develop new faculty and student engagement pathways within the tech industry Google Visit - Two faculty spent one week working with Google in Mountain View, CA to further integrate project- based learning coursework in the classroom Industry Engagement #IN2NYC - Connects international entrepreneurs selected through a competitive process with a CUNY school Code to Work - 17 students selected for summer internships with startup accelerator, Grand Central Tech Women in Tech - Series of events aimed at addressing the gender gap in LaGuardia’s STEM programs by connecting all students with professionals in both industry and academia
