  3. Click: Apply for access First, if you wish,view application form Note the option to reset password, if you forget

  4. Enter email address & password (to be used) Make a “strong” password--at least 5 characters of 3 types: letters, numbers, symbols,and capital letters.

  5. Carefully read application preamble Access to microdata is a privilegeRespect confidentiality. Safeguard the microdataagainst misuse.

  6. Enter information on application form An incomplete application is automaticallydenied access. For statistical purposes only: national statistical office-owners of the microdata like to know statistics of usage by nationals researching or studying abroad

  7. Access is restricted to qualified users Institutional affiliation is requiredto assess userqualifications Violation of user agreementwill result in revocation of accessto all users at thatinstitution.

  8. Users must respect confidentiality Office for Human Subjects Protection: are you trained to protect confidentialized microdata? Briefly describe proposed research.If microdata are not suitable for proposed research, access will be denied.
