Project facts Project title: Fostering and Developing the Quality Culture at the University of Prishtina Short title: QC@UP Project number: 145158-TEMPUS-2008-XK-SMGR (2008-4740) Contractor: University of Prishtina, Kosova Project duration: 15/01/2009 – 14/01/2012 Total budget: € 510.868,00  The project is funded by the European Commission through the Tempus IV Grant – First call for proposals (EAC/04/2008)

  3. Project partners MEST (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology) University College Cork (UCC), Ireland University of Salzburg (US), Austria University of Wuppertal (UW), Germany WUS-Austria, Austria Individual experts: David Crosier (EUA) and Willy Astrup University of Arhus, Denmark

  4. Overall objective of the project The overall objective of the project is to foster and develop the Quality Culture at all levels as: teaching, learning, research, administrative and student support services while taking in to account perspectives of internal and external university stakeholders

  5. Specific objectives of project • Introduction of new Quality Assurance aspects and components as developing specific guidelines for ensuring quality at doctoral studies and research. • Closer cooperation with the labour market that will help UP to design study programs enabling graduates to fulfil labour market needs. • Connection of QA with the provision of guidance and Counselling Services offered by Career Development Centre, aiming to broaden the services provided and introduction of new services to students with disabilities and special needs. Beyond that Career Development Centre can become a model for the Western Balkan region in the area of students' guidance and counselling. • Self - assessment of 6 Faculties and peer review group visits that will result with Quality Improvement Plan for these units. • Keeping up to date with the European trends in QA as participation of UP to European Quality Assurance Forums, exchange of experiences with EU partners and gaining of experiences as external reviewer to EU project partners. • Development of five years Quality Assurance Strategy will enable UP to develop the roadmap in what ways and how it wants to improve the quality of its services.

  6. Development of Quality Culture and self - evaluation of Faculties at the University of Prishtina • Development of website and promotion material • Workshops at 17 Faculties of UP • Week of student involvement on QA processes • Self-assessment of 6 Faculties of UP • Quality Day at UP

  7. Development of QA policies for doctoral studies-research • Establishment of research evaluation standards • Determination of indicators for research achievements • Development of guidelines for research evaluation • Development of a questionnaire • Training of the ADO for the “Quality Assurance on Research”

  8. Drafting of QA/QI strategy 2011-2016 • Development of QA Strategy • Round-table on gathering inputs from university stakeholders • Study–visit of Strategy Development Committee to UCC

  9. Keeping up to date with the European Developments in Quality Assurance • Participation of UP to European Quality Assurance Forum • Gaining experience as external reviewer at European university • Study-visit to University of Salzburg

  10. Advancement of student support services at UP • Developing cooperation with the faculties at UP • Student support day to deepen the understanding of the need for student support services within the Bologna Process • Developing trainings for students and high school students • Increasing knowledge about UP among high school students • Exploring the development of guidance and counselling for students with disabilities and special needs within LINK • Organisation of career fairs • Round table on transition from university into the job market .Building up a network for internships • Study visit to Germany

Dissemination, sustainability and project management • Information Processing & Distribution, Public Relations: Preparing news and media coverage , Organization of the “Information Days about the project” etc • Assurance of Sustainability: Lobbying at the various stakeholders for sponsorship and support, Meetings with senior management of UP , Quality Assurance Board of UP, Meetings with Ministry of Education and Kosova Accreditation Agency etc • Quality Assurance of project • Project management and coordination
