Aim of the course The course: • tries to open a new window for the architects to consider the concept of production process along with the concept of product, • aims to analyze building production process considering the participants, their roles and relationships by placing an emphasize on architectural design stage, • aims to provide basic skills of understanding, analyzing, designing, developing and implementing an information system required by architectural offices through the design stage. Content of the course • Building production process and building production system • Information systems, Components of CBIS • Data processing systems and their function in information systems, Basic database concepts, Theoretical aspects of databases • Relational, hierarchical and net type database architectures, Object-oriented database programming, Information Systems in Construction Projects Management

  5. Content of the course • Design process of databases, • Databases that are needed by architects in various organizations in construction industry, i.e., design offices, consultant companies and constructor firms, • Practical study for developing a design-related database model in an object-oriented database development environment.   6. Requirements for final exam • minimum 60% attendance to class, • minimum 60% attendance to practical studies, • submission of term project at a certain maturity level. Information Systems in Construction Projects Management

  7. Success • 60 or over is required as final grade that is the average of midterm exam and term project for success. Information Systems in Construction Projects Management
