  15. ITU-R on Smart Grid • In January, 802.18, chaired by Mike Lynch, reported that the ITU-R WP1A was developing a Preliminary Draft New Report (PDNR) dealing with Smart Grid power management systems. That document is available on the RR-TAG Mentor web site as 18-11-0002. • https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/11/18-11-0002-00-0000-itu-r-wp1a-draft-report-on-smart-grid-power-management-systems.docx •  During the January wireless interim 802.18 suggested that, after a review, 802 may be interested in providing input for the PDNR. There is a need to provide data on wireless systems suitable for use in any Smart Grid - gas, electric or water. • Following the January interim meeting a baseline response document was prepared for further consideration in March. That document is available as 18-11-0024. • https://mentor.ieee.org/802.18/dcn/11/18-11-0024-00-0000-contribution-on-wp1a-pdnr-on-smart-grid.docx • The hope is that any 802 WG with an interest in Smart Grid will contribute to this document. • While WP1A's next meeting doesn't begin until May 25th the deadline for ITU submissions would make it nearly impossible for 802 to complete a contribution at the May interim. The goal is that 802.18 collect inputs from 802.11 and the other WGs and that the 802 EC complete and approve the contribution at the March Plenary. • 802.18 will have a brief introduction of 18-11-0024 during its opening plenary on Monday afternoon. • I propose that some time be allocated to review document 18-11-0024  during the first Smart Grid ad hoc session on Tuesday at 13:30. Bruce Kraemer, Marvell

  16. Monday Agenda Item 4.1.12 802 Architecture - Process • Jeffree will send out the letter ballot announcement to the EC • WG chairs will send out the information on the ballot to their WG and/or TAG members • WG and TAG chairs will collect comments by the end of the ballot period • Each WG chair will arrange to have the comments consolidated into a single contribution • Comments will be entered into the 802.3 comment tool, reference 802.1 introductory material. • The WG and TAG chairs will determine their vote based on the received comments. • A non-response from the WG is a recusal and does not count.
