  1. Geopolitical hotspots Geographical Hot Spots! • For your final exam, you are assigned to choose a geographic “hot spot” around the world and create a 2 page typed outline of the issue as well as a multi-media presentation that will teach the class about the conflict as well as offer a solution. You will work alone or with one classmate. • You will need to incorporate the OPTIC technique below as well as your Deconstruction, Reconstruction, Reflection and Collaborative skills. • You will include two maps: one at the world scale/ and one at the regional scale of your conflict(s). • To demonstrate research on your “hotspot” you will attach 5 comprehensive articles on the one crisis you analyzed using the OPTIC technique. These articles should be articles that you found particularly helpful. They must display different points of view, they should be scholarly articles, essays, research papers, or, articles from media sources that are research based, yet easy to read. Your written analysis should follow the OPTIC outline below: • O = Overview of Article • P = Pertinent perspectives that help explain the issue from all sides of the problem • T= Title • I = Implications (Inferences) that can be made from the article(s) • C =Conclusion. What has to happen in order for the solution to actually work long term? • NOTE: Please staple all materials below: • Your 2 page outline of the “hotspot.” • All written material must be in MLA format • All research must be cited in MLA format • Your 5 articles of research • Your Deconstruction, Reconstruction, and Reflection of the “hotspot.” • Collaboration and Communication is your presentation • • Due date and Presentations: DECEMBER 15th
