  6. Transportation • Transport is very important of our life. There are two kinds of transport—road transportand sea transport. • We can use these kinds of transport to go far away.

  7. Transportation in Tuen Mun The people in Tuen Mun usually go outside. They travel mainly by: • The KCR-Light Rail • The KCR-West Rail • Bus • Taxi • Minibus

  8. KCR-Light Rail

  9. KCR-Light Rail started to serve the people in Tuen Mun since 1988. • It have 12 routes right now and 68 stations in Tuen Mun and Yuen Long. • People can travel to another places by the Light Rail between Tuen Mun and Yuen Long very convenient.

  11. KCR-West Rail

  12. KCR-West Rail started working since 2003. • Its lengths is about 30.5 km. It have 9 stations between Tuen Mun and Nam Cheong (Sham Shui Po). • People can travel from Tuen Mun to Nam Cheong by only 30 minutes. It is very convenient for the people in Tuen Mun to travel to Kowloon.

  14. Bus • There are two bus companies served in Tuen Mun. • One of them is Kowloon Motor Bus(1993)Co. and the another one is the City Bus Co.

  15. Taxi • People in Tuen Mun also like to travel by Taxi.

  16. Minibus • People in Tuen Mun always travel to Shun Shui or Kowloon by minibus.

  17. Tuen Mun Highway • Tuen Mun Highway was built in 1978. • The length of this road is about 17 km. • It is the main road to connect Tsuen Wan and Tuen Mun. • In 1991, the government started to improve the road. • The work was completed in 1996.

  18. Castle Peak Road • Castle Peak Road is the longest road in Hong Kong. It through Kowloon to Sheung Shui. • It is about 56 km long and divided into 20 parts because the government need to manage it. • 6 parts of the Castle Peak Road are in Tuen Mun: • Tsing Long Tau bridge • Tai Lam, • So Kwa Wat, • Castle Peak Bay, • San Hui, • Lingnan, • Lam Tei,

  20. Sea Transport • On the sea. There are Cruise ships and Ferry .We mainly go to other places from Tuen Mun by ferry.

  21. Cruise Ship • Cruise ships are basically self-contained destinations where the guests can live and eat there, and also entertain. • Cruises are voyages taken for pleasure and not only for the purpose of transport. Most cruises start and end at the same port.

  22. Ferry • There are so many companies of ferry. New World First Ferry Services Limited is a company of ferry. We can use ferry to go to the Tung Chung and Tai O from Tuen Mun.

  23. Ferry Services • Ferryservice is a short distance sea-journey between ports. Both of the local commuters as tourists use this mode of transport.

  32. Afterthought Pang Ka Wing : After doing this project, I knew more about Tuen Mun’s transportation. Ho Siu Chi : l have learnt many knowledge about the transportation of Tuen Mun. Tsui Ka Ming : After finishing the project, I have learnt that transportation is very important for us. Lam Wai Fung : I think this project is very interesting. Mo min hua : Although searching the information are quite difficult, I still think graceful. Cheung Yuen Wah : I have learnt more things about Tuen Mun. Lui Tsz Kin : I have learnt lots of thing.
