MAIN ASPECTS MED-PCS PROJECT • MED Programme 2007-2013. • Priority AXIS 3, Objective 3.1: Improvement of maritime accessibility and transit capacities through multi-modality and inter-modality. • Total budget: 1.901.670€. • Funding: 75% • Duration: 30 months. From January 2013 until June 2015. • Leader partner: Tarragona Port Authority.

MED PROGRAMME • The MED programme is a transnational programme of European territorial cooperation financed by the European Union. • The transnational setup allows the programme to tackle territorial challenges beyond national boundaries, such as environmental risk management, international business or transport corridors. •  144 projects have been programmed, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). •  With a budget of more than 250M€ (193M€ of ERDF), the Programme will launch, until exhaustion of its ERDF envelope, calls for projects to build transnational partnerships aiming at meeting the priority objectives of the Programme in the Mediterranean space.

MED PROGRAMME II • Programme objectives: • To improve the area's competitiveness in a way that guarantees growth and employment for the next generations. • To promote territorial cohesion and environmental protection, according to the logic of sustainable development. • Major stakes and programme priority axes: • Axis 1: Strengthening Innovation Capacities. • Axis 2: Environmental protection and promotion of a sustainable territorial development. • Axis 3: Improvement of mobility and of territorial accessibility. • Axis 4: Promotion of a polycentric and integrated development of the MED space.

MED-PCS PROJECT OBJECTIVES • Achieve effective implementation of the new services in the PCS in the four Mediterranean Ports, partners of this Project. • Achieve effective communication between such PCS’s . • Benchmarking of the best practices. • Training for potential users. • Communication and dissemination activities for stakeholders. • Capitalisation strategies. • Best services to the customers.

MED-PCS PROJECT ACTIVITIES I WP1: ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF THE PROJECT AND COORDINATION OF THE PARTNERSHIP: Phase 1.1 Technical Management: • Project Charter. • Project Management Plan. • Work Breakdown Structure. • Quality Management Plan. • Start report. • Progress report of the work of each Certification. • External evaluation. • Steering Committees and Technical Meetings: Five since April 2013.

MED-PCS PROJECT ACTIVITIES II WP1: ADMINISTRATIVE AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF THE PROJECT AND COORDINATION OF THE PARTNERSHIP: Phase 1.2 Financial Management: • Validation of the First Level Control of each partner. • Certification Guide. • Financial reports of each Certification. • Payment claim of each Certification.

MED-PCS PROJECT ACTIVITIES IX • WP4: TO IMPROVE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: • Phase 4.1 Setting the minimum requirements to be covered by every implemented PCS and intra-port communication system: • General Study “Implementation of the PCS in Europe”. • General Study “Integration of logistics players in the PCS”. • Study “E-services in the Port partners of the Med-PCS Project”. • Minimum specific requirements of each PCS. • Minimum specific requirements for communication system between PCS. • Implementation Plan for each PCS.

MED-PCS PROJECT ACTIVITIES X • WP4: TO IMPROVE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: • Phase 4.2 Implementation of PCS in each Port: • Development of the Implementation Plan: distinct new services at each Port according to the needs of each Port’s clients. • User Manual. • Phase 4.3 Development of the communication system between each PCS: • Development of the Implementation Plan: services common to each Port. • User Manual.

MED-PCS PROJECT ACTIVITIES XI • WP4: TO IMPROVE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS: • Phase 4.4 Pilot tests: • Five pilot tests: One at each Port and one for communication system between each PCS. • Guidelines for the development of the pilot tests. • Implementation report. • Evaluation of implementations.
