Lectures, Conferences, etc. • Demo, shown at SAB, Google, EWIMT • Intelligent Manufacturing of e-Music, IMS meeting, Australia • Standard for Symbolic Music, CERN • IEEE Conference MAX 2002: Musical Applications Using XML, Milan • Posters at the IMS Forum, Cernobbio, Italy, and at the European Commission, launch of Call 2.5.10, Luxembourg

Working Group Activities • Formal WG meeting at the IEEE Conference MAX 2002 • 3 teleconferences since 2003 and one in person, yearly • intense exchange of e-mail (average once a week) with involved developers • personal visits by the WG chair: Milan, Italy (University); Tucson, Arizona (U.Virginia); Califonia (Google, Recordare, Peakdesign); Sydney, Australia (PESI); Tokyo, Japan (TDK, Kanazawa, Aizu)

International Financial Support • By global research fund Intelligent Manufacturing Systems, www.ims.org • Abstract accepted in August 2002 • Feasibility study, accepted with financing, 2004 • Full proposal submitted in May 2005, evaluation pending • + 2 proposals submitted to the European Commission, Brussels

  5. Companies and public institutions interested • Google • ST Microelectronics • Sony CRL • Ricordi • Ministry of Cultural Goods and Activities, Italy • IRCAM, Paris • + ISO–MPEG, Uni. Virginia, Uni. Milan, Laurentian, Kanazawa, AIZU

  6. SA Documents • First informal draft, 2003, presented also at the SAB meeting • First formal draft, May 2005, submitted to the SA • + bi-yearly reports at SAB meetings, since 2002 (in the minutes)

  7. II. What remains to be done • Complete the technical part (almost done) • Realize applications (research grants) • Consolidate contacts with companies (e.g., Google, ST Microelectronics) • Requested 3 year extension
