  7. - Build upon existing and contributing to community tools: Community Land surface models CLM, SURFEX integrate already hydrological models but not 2D hydraulic models. LDAS (Land Data Assimilation Sytems) - NASA NLDAS GLDAS ? - Meteo-France (Surfex-EnkF, Surfex-ExKF) ? - ECMWF (HTESSEL) An organization of the hydrology community is needed to find adapted solutions to go forward (Wood et al., 2011) and even understanding the processes (Beven & Clocke, 2012).

How to take into consideration scale issues as sensors have very different resolutions (assimilate coarse into fine scale model) ? Can we deliver an enhanced discharge product trough assimilation ? By how much ? (Durand et al. 2010?) In the case of multi sensor approaches, what is the contribution of each sensor to the enhancements ? What are the drawbacks of using assimilation ? (interdependence, robustness, …
