  3. How can you support Children’s Miracle Network?

  4. Children’s Miracle Network • Contributions to Children’s Miracle Network benefit an array of pediatric programs and services for young children battling every type of childhood illness and injury in our communities.

  5. Raise awareness Decorate your school in red and yellow and host a recess or lunch rally with games and information about Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Miracle Balloon Campaign Host a campaign at school selling Miracle Balloons and sharing statistics about children and Children’s Miracle Network.

  6. Make cards Children in hospitals enjoy reading encouraging cards from those in our communities. Encourage your clubs to make cards and physically deliver cards to children in your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Do contact a representative from Children’s Miracle Network to get information about what should be included in the cards.

  7. Dance Marathon Nationwide movement involving students raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as well as interacting with children’s hospital patients and families. The dance marathon itself is a 12-40 hour long event where students stay on their feet through dancing, games, and entertainment in celebration of the total amount raised that year. The mission statement is “We dance for those who can’t”. We basically do activities to raise funds for children who are unable to do so.   8. How can you support March of Dimes?

  9. March of Dimes • Organization that helps mothers have full-term pregnancies and research the problems that threaten the health of babies. Funds donated to the organization is used to fund research and innovative programs for mothers and babies.

  10. Educate and raise awareness Light up your school in purple and hold a rally raising awareness about mothers and babies as well educating students about March of Dimes. Host a “Purple Shirt Day” to raise awareness about March of Dimes. Teen–2–Teen Program in which teens educate other teens about making healthy decisions for their benefit now and for the benefit of their future children.   11. Prematurity Awareness Month November is March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Month and November 17 is Prematurity Awareness Day. There are many ways you can participate for example updating your Facebook status or posting on Twitter. You can even create your own prematurity activities for the Division’s you serve. Visit www.marchofdimes.com/mission/world-prematurity-day for more information March for Babies Sign up to participate in your local March for Babies event, create a team, and raise money! Contact the event coordinators to ask how your club can assist with different activities for the event.

  12. How can you support UNICEF & The Eliminate Project?

  13. UNICEF /Eliminate Project • Working in over 150 countries, UNICEF is a global humanitarian relief organization providing children with health care and immunizations, clean water, nutrition and food, security, education, emergency relief and more.

  14. The Eliminate Project Kiwanis International and UNICEF has partnered to eliminate MNT, Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus from the face of the earth by 2015. $1.80 provides a series of three vaccinations which protects a mother and her future babies. GOAL: $110 million

  15. Participate in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Simply order your Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes and go around your neighborhood on Halloween collecting money instead of candy. Walk to Eliminate Work with the Division you serve to plan a walk that will parade around a local park or through town raising funds for and awareness of The Eliminate Project. Cook Off Work with the Division you serve or your Kiwanis Family to plan a cook off in which each club provides a local favorite food and tasters are charged to taste as well as vote for the winner.

  16. Eliminate Dance Work with your club to plan a school dance or your Kiwanis Family to plan a dance supporting mothers and babies. Encourage members to collect pledges, charge for entry, and have different activities to help collect funds.

  18. How can you support Hershey’s Track and Field Games?

  19. Hershey’s Track & Field Games • Program to help children get on the right track, teaching lifelong lessons and having fun every step, leap, jump and throw along the way. It is the largest youth sports program with hundreds of thousands of children competing each year.

  20. Planning and hosting a Track & Field Games event takes lots of planning in advanced. Please visit the website, www.hersheytrackandfield.com to get step by step instructions on planning and hosting the event. *Keep in mind that registration begins on October 18 and will end on December 20. Your Track and Field Games should be hosted sometime in April.

  21. How can you support Nickelodeon’s Day of Play?

  22. Nickelodeon’s Big Help & Day of Play • Nickelodeon is another vision partner focusing on its Big Help initiative. The Big Help focuses on issues in service, education, environment, and health. Nickelodeon also hosts their World Wide Day of Play in which kids are encouraged to get up, get out, and play!

  25. How can you support US Army’s March 2 Success?

  26. U.S. Army – March 2 Success • The United States Army is a Vision Partner of Kiwanis International. Soldiers serve as facilitators at Key Leader workshops and offer the March 2 Success program.
