  2. History and Achievements • Start of HOPE workshop 15. With Palle Yndal-Olsenas Coordinator, members of HOPE were given the task to work out a Charter for the Rights and EducationalNeeds of Sick Children.

  3. MeissenOctober 1999. Workshop on the Charter. • Barcelona 2000 Adoption of heCharter by the General Assembly of HOPE.

  4. After Barcelona the members of the workshop 15 startedtheir work on the Standard; a scale or instrument for the measurement of a e.g. a charter. • 2005, 23 January, Board Meetingminutes: The Standard must be used as an official HOPE document.

  5. A HOPE Survey (2007 – 2008) • Summary, IdentifiedBarriers, Examples of Good Practicefrom answers to letters sent to the Ministries of Education of the memberstatesin the Council of Europe.

  6. 2010 in Munich. Start of a revision of the Charter and the Standard. Focus on continuity and inclusion. The sick child in hospital and in the mainstream school. To be continued

  7. Amsterdam 2012. Proposal*to hand over the responsibility for the updating and continuousevaluation of the Charter with the Standard as an instrument to the Committee. * See separate document.

  8. To achieve this. A proposalwasmadeto elect a Committeesecretary with a right to be present at board meetings.

  9. Via the CommitteeSecretary HOPE wouldbecome a more transparent organisation.

  10. The flow of information wouldspreadbothvertically and horizontallywithin the organization. Bureau – Committee - Members

  11. The common work with the Charter and the Standard in between Congresses would give way to a wider comparative understanding of the status of hospital education in the countries of Europe among all members.
