Topic Medicaid Redeterminations About 52,000 CT residents will receive a Medicaid redetermination letter in the next 60 days since their eligibility for Medicaid will need to be redetermined by the Department of Social Services. What should consumers be instructed to do in the AHCT portal? If a consumer is currently on Medicaid then he/she must complete the HIX application within 60 days of their Medicaid expiration date. This will include completing screens indicating that Medicaid is their current health coverage. The following screens describe the process for completing the application on line when the applicant is currently on Medicaid. Scenario

Plan Name -Type HUSKY or CHIP or Medicaid Policy Number: Enter HUSKY card number or type word “Medicaid” Group Number: Enter HUSKY card number or type word “Medicaid” Name of Carrier: Medicaid Premium Cost: Type 0.01 Payment Frequency: Monthly Coverage Effective Date: Date started receiving coverage thru HUSKY or CHIP (previous Year) Coverage End Date: Enter Medicaid expiration date from Medicaid letter (should be last day of month) Policy Effective Date: SAME date as Coverage Effective Date Policy End Date: SAME date as Coverage End Date Additional Questions – Currently Enrolled Health Coverage 14
