Overview of RUnUP Progress • Progress Updates – Ongoing Actions • Action 4.3 Creating a distinctive ‘local brand’ • Gateshead, Águeda, Campobasso, Leszno, Potsdam, Solna • Start June 2009; End March 2011 • Distinctive local brand to be developed by ULSG • Campobasso identified local brands already in existence • Leszno training session for ULSG and established special working group • Águeda developed local brand under Águeda Urban Regeneration programme • Action 6.3 ULSG meetings and open conferences • All PPs responsible for delivery • Bi-monthly ULSG meetings, annual open conferences February 2010 and January 2011 • All PPs have regular meetings of core ULSG group • Campobasso and Patras both developed Memorandum of Understanding • Annual open conferences planned?

Overview of RUnUP Progress • Progress Updates – Ongoing Actions • Action 7.1 Local Action Plan • All PPs responsible for delivery • Most PPs held initial discussions with ULSG about activities • Barakaldo draft LAP with five lines of action • Gateshead draft business development framework to support LAP • Leszno working on two main areas • Action 8.4 Political and strategic engagement • All PPs need to ensure at six-monthly updates to politicians and strategic management • Barakaldo and Águeda regularly update Mayor on project progress • Gateshead ULSG officially recognised as sub-group of Gateshead Strategic Partnership • Action 11.1 Managing Authority engagement • Most PPs have MAs regularly attending ULSGs • Limited involvement at transnational meetings and events
