Who am I? 3/4 • I am older than dirt….and lived around • 570 BCE • I was a philosopher that influenced Plato • If I could of gotten e-mail, I would of found • out that my great idea was not original • The Chinese in 2000 BCE beat me to the • task (as well as the Babylonians) • Euclid (200 BCE) wrote about me and my accomplishments in his book “Elements” and was the first to prove that the converse of my great idea was also true • Following the first proof, many proofs followed (over 100 different!). • Euclid, Socrates, and even President Garfield found other ways to prove what I am famous for
