PROGRAMME OF THE MODERNIZATION Corridor X – final goal: - Reconstructed in double track, electrified and equipped with modern signalization - Designed for speed of 160 km/h - Available for all technologies of combine transport Investment: 4,611 bill Euros Finished Transport Master Plan for Serbia, financed by EC. Document is in the process of verification. TMP identified Developing Projects of all modes of transport, in the railway and intermodal sector - 14 projects.

Phases for modernization • Phase 1 • Single track Belgrade-Novi Sad-Subotica to double track on the Sections: • Stara Pazova-Novi Sad, and • Novi Sad-Subotica-Border to Hungary • Single track Belgrade-Niš to double track on the Sections: • (Belgrade) Resnik-Klenje-Mali Požarevac-Velika Plana • Gilje-Ćuprija-Paraćin • (Ćićevac) Stalać-Djunis • Modernization of the Belgrade and Novi Sad railway nodes • Reconstruction and modernization of the Single track Niš-Dimitrovgrad-Border to Bulgaria

  11. Bilateral credit arrangements • Credit arrangement with the Czech Republic in the amount of 120 mill. euro, for modernization of the line Nis–Dimitrovgrad in terms of electrification, safety equipment. Deadline: 2011. • Credit arrangement with the Russian Federation in the amount of 600 mill. US dollars for: • Completion of the Belgrade railway node (200 mill. US dollars), • Completion of the Railway line Valjevo - Loznica (about 160) • Modernization of the railway line Belgrade - Vrbnica (Bar) (about 240). Negotiations are in progress. Deadline: 2013. • Credit arrangement with the Kingdom of Spain in the amount of 37 mill. euro, for purchasing a modern DMU. The tender will be announced in March 2010.

Status of works on Corridor Xuntil end 2009 Batajnica – Golubinci (21,5 km) • All structural and electrical works along the railway line are finished • Station tracks of the 3 station on this section are repaired, with enlarging platforms and canopies • The value of works was about 30 mill. euro

  13. Status of works on Corridor Xuntil end 2009 Ćele kula – Staničenje • One segment of the Project of the modernization and reconstruction of railway line Niš–Dimitrovgrad • From EIB II 30.6 mill. euro were provided (estimated total value of the works is about 50 mill. euro) • Other works on the modernization and reconstruction of the Niš–Dimitrovgrad railway line, will be financed through Bilateral credit arrangement. Negotiations are in progress • Expropriation of the land, worth about 200,000 euro, also should be committed in the next period • At certain intervals, during the works on this line, railway traffic will be suspended

  14. Status of works on Corridor Xuntil end 2009 Gilje – Ćuprija – Paraćin (10,5 km) • From EIB II 27.6 mill. euro were provided (estimated total value of the works is about 46 mill. euro) • Preparatory activities for building the bridge near Ćuprija (322.5 m long) are started. Tender procedure is ongoing. • Expropriation of the land, worth about 200,000 euro, is also in progress. Expropriation of the entire Section is estimated at 1.8 million. euro and the time period for implementation of these activities is estimated at one year. • Construction permit for works on the Section is provided • Missing funds will be provided by bilateral loan or IFI
