  3. Bulrush: prepared for the working • Before starting the braid, the plaiting material must be soaked. Better in hot water. • In order to the materials not to dry out so quickly, they are wrapped in the polyethylene foil. • Any unused material is dried.

  4. Other materials • Scissors are needed. • Needle should be chosen fairly large and with snape curtailed.

  5. Plait of three rushes By use of the three rushes you can make a normal plait. If you want a greater heart-shaped object: use thicker rushes and make it longer, if smaller, use thinner rushes and make it shorter.

  9. Heart • The bulrush meant for sewing and tieing knots has be chosen durable, but not too thick thread. It can be a neutral, invisible color or a bright, vivid color. • When the plait is made, then tie the two ends together and cut off any excesses. • Then find the middle of the loop, fold inward and fasten securely.

  10. Recommendations • You can make braids of double or triple hearts. • For making braids You can use more bulrush. • You can make a pendant by attaching a thread. • You can glue it on the skewer. • You can make it as a brooch.
