  2. IPPT EligibilityAll PES A, B and C1 active NSmen below the age of 45 years for Officers and 40 years for Warrant Officers & below are required to take the IPPT annually.All IPPT eligible NSmen must attempt IPPT once within their IPPT year. They may attempt IPPT during or outside their ICT and may make as many attempts as they want to improve their IPPT results. The best result achieved will be taken as the record for the IPPT year.NSmen who have just ORDed can immediately take their IPPT. The results will be counted towards their IPPT requirements for the year.

Types of IPPTICT IPPTAs IPPT is part of the ICT training programme, all NSmen are required to participate in the IPPT, unless exempted due to medical reasons.Non-ICT IPPTNon-ICT IPPT will be conducted at the various IPPT test centres. The NSman may make numerous attempts at the FCCs, however only the first 3 IPPT attempts will be considered towards the NSman's NS liability and he will be paid service and make-up pay, if applicable.

  4. Booking IPPTBooking of IPPT is on a first-come-first-served basis as there are limited capacity for each session. The NSman will only be able to access those training types that he is eligible in the NS portal. NSmen may book IPPT via:a. NS Portal at www.ns.sgb. Phone Booking: 1800-367 6767 (eNSNSNS)c.   5. Test ProtocolAs frontline soldiers, it is essential for all NSmen to maintain physical fitness. The IPPT is designed to test the basic components of physical fitness and motor skills of the NSmen. It comprises the following tests (see diagram below): Sit-Up Abdominal muscular strength and endurance.  Standing Broad Jump Lower limbs extensor muscular power. Chin-up Upper limbs muscular strength and endurance.  4 * 10m Shuttle Run General speed, agility and co-ordination. 2.4Km Run Cardio-respiratory endurance and lower limbs muscular endurance.

  6. Exemption from IPPTNSmen are exempted from their annual IPPT under the following conditions:a. Permanently downgraded to PES C2 and below.b. Have continuous valid medical exemption of 6 months or more within their IPPT year.c. Have accumulated valid medical exemption for a total of 9 months within their IPPT year.*An NSman seeking medical exemption from IPPT must submit his medical certificate to his NS Unit as soon as possible, or he can request for a medical review through his NS unit.

  7. IPPT Standards & Scoring SystemThe IPPT Standards and Scoring System is based on the NSman’s age and vocation.AgeThe IPPT age category is based on the NSman's birthday, where he will remain in the same age category for the duration of his IPPT window. The IPPT age categories use a 5-year median as follows: Cat X - Below 25 years old Cat Y - 25 years to below 30 years Cat Y1 - 30 years to below 35 years Cat Z - 35 years to below 40 years Cat Z1 - 40 years to below 45 years VocationFor IPPT, there are 4 vocation groupings as follows: Commando / Naval Divers Guardsmen Combat Service Please refer to this weblink for the detailed scoring.
