  1. We all waste a lot of useful materials. Think of all the plastic bottles you use. You can re-use them in your games!

  2. 102 billion plastic bags are used every year in the USA alone. Why not make a football out of some like African children do?

  3. You also make them from old jumpers and strips of material, like this child has.

  4. Many toys and fun things are home-made – like these stilts made out of tins and rope.

  5. More games from ‘waste’ materials! These old tyres can be kept rolling for miles with a bit of skill.

  6. A lot of poor children have to walk miles every day to fetch water. They are very fit and strong, try lifting one of these!

  7. Many African children in poor families can’t afford shoes & are lucky if they own flip flops. Try skipping bare-foot!

  8. Although there are cars, many people have to cycle. This keeps them fit, but is hard work on pot-holed roads.

  9. Now try out making your own recycled games, inspired by children in Africa!
