  1. Trial report 9_Wisium_SPE-OILIS-TR-RT-SP-FT-2013-EN-V2 Replacement ewes lambs & fattening lambs 0 – 40 days of age Effect of OILIS LD in milk replacer on the growth of lambs compared with chemical coccidiostats Type of trial: Field Trial Location: Commercial farm, Cooperativa Valmoro. Granja Toldanos.Torres del Carrizal (Zamora, Spain). Date: 2013 Introduction This trial is conducted in a Spanish commercial farm in order to evaluate the efficiency of OILIS LD distributed through the milk on lambs at an inclusion rate of 6 kg/T. Sanitary health statuses of the farm and animals zootechnical performances are measured. The trial also includes a negative control group with a supplementation of OILIS LD a chemical coccidiostat: decoquinate. Materials and methods Housing and animals: Animals are removed from mother immediately after birth & raised in same condition - Replacement ewe lambs: Assaf breed : 30 animals (10/diet) - Fattening lambs (male & female : Assaf breed : 564 animals (176/192/196 per diet) Replacement ewe lambs and fattening lambs are located in the same lactation house but in separated place. Period: From 3 days of age to +/- 40 days of age (until live weight: 11 kg) Diets: All animals received colostrum from their birth to 3 days of age and then a milk replacer. AGE : 3 days- approx 40 days (till 11 kg) Diets A Negative control : Milk replacer B Milk replacer + OILIS LD (6 kg/T) C Milk replacer + Decoquinate (75 ppm) Measures: • Replacement ewe lambs: - Zootechnical performances: Individual weighing at 16 d of age, ADG calculation, - Individual cryptosporidiosis excretion (at d 16 and 25 – neubauer method) • Fattening lambs: - Zootechnical performances: Weighing in batches, ADG - Mortality, - Average selling weight, Number of days to reach selling weight (11kg), NEOVIA / WISIUM Talhouët, 56250 Saint-Nolff - France +33 (0)2 97 48 54 54 - contact@wisium.com - www.wisium.com NEOVIA au capital de 30 589 692€ • 636 320 038 RCS Vannes Code APE 1091 Z • Siret : 636 32003800038 Date: 2 Aug. 2018 Page : 1/4

  2. Trial report 9_Wisium_SPE-OILIS-TR-RT-SP-FT-2013-EN-V2 Results Replacement ewes lambs Oocyst count: The excretion of Cryptosporidium parvum oocyst reduced at 25 days of age in the OILIS group, when compared to the excretion level at 16 days of age (p=0.174). is significantly In control and decoquinate groups, the level of excretion remains stable at 16 and 25 days of age. Counting of coccidiosis oocysts excretion was done at 3 weeks of age (=21 days of age). No problem was detected so no new samples were taken 2 weeks later. Zootechnical performance: OILIS supplementation allows better growth from 0 to 16 days of age: it almost doubles ADG in comparison with negative control (483 g/d vs 244 g/d). ADG of OILIS group is improved (+70%) in comparison with decoquinate (483 g/d vs 261 g/d). Performances are taken in consideration from 0 to 16d only as after 16 days, elastic bands to cut tail were placed at different moment, interfering with the trial. Fattening Lambs Mortality A drastic reduction of mortality was observed on OILIS group: -65% in comparison control group and -72% in comparison with decoquinate. It represents a decrease of mortality around 6 animals in OILIS group in comparison with other treatments. with NEOVIA / WISIUM Talhouët, 56250 Saint-Nolff - France +33 (0)2 97 48 54 54 - contact@wisium.com - www.wisium.com NEOVIA au capital de 30 589 692€ • 636 320 038 RCS Vannes Code APE 1091 Z • Siret : 636 32003800038 Date: 2 Aug. 2018 Page : 2/4

  3. Trial report 9_Wisium_SPE-OILIS-TR-RT-SP-FT-2013-EN-V2 Fattening days of lambs In Spain, milk lambs are sold when they have reached weight of 11 kg. In OILIS group, almost 50% of animals were sold in less than 22 fattening days. It is 3 days less control group without any supplementation. 27 % of animals the than in 48 % of animals 33 % of animals NEOVIA / WISIUM Talhouët, 56250 Saint-Nolff - France +33 (0)2 97 48 54 54 - contact@wisium.com - www.wisium.com NEOVIA au capital de 30 589 692€ • 636 320 038 RCS Vannes Code APE 1091 Z • Siret : 636 32003800038 Date: 2 Aug. 2018 Page : 3/4

  4. Trial report 9_Wisium_SPE-OILIS-TR-RT-SP-FT-2013-EN-V2 Growth parameters Growth parameters (ADG, number of fattening days) are similar in the 3 groups. Thus it means that OILIS allows same growth (ADG) with higher number of animals, including higher number of weak animals remaining due to lower mortality rate. Conclusion This trial has demonstrated the ability of OILIS, a plant extracts combination, to significantly improve the health status of the animals when added at 6 kg/T into the milk replacer of fattening and replacement lambs from 3 days of age until the end of fattening period (around 40 days of age – until 11 kg of weight) and with natural occurrence of Cryptosporidium parvum: • Reduction of mortality rate • Reduction of the excretion of oocysts of Cryptosprodium parvum Consequently, animals can better express their growth potential as seen for the replacement ewes lambs. In fattening lambs, OILIS allows same growth performance in a bigger and less homogeneous group of animals.
